I can follow Pilates by watching videos are home. Would it be better for me to take lessons from a studio?

Yes it can be ‘easier’ and ‘cheaper’ to just follow videos in the comfort of your own home, however the results just aren’t the same.

You are an individual and different to any other person on any given day. A qualified classical instructor is specifically trained to look at the body in front of them; assess, teach and correct exercises according to your needs through tactile, as well as imagery cuing which inevitably is not the same as following videos at home.

Books and exercises are a good back-up resource for a maintenance program at home when you are unable to attend class. However, to achieve maximum results and prevent injury through correct execution, supervised sessions are highly recommended.
